Mercari is the best of both worlds. It's one of my favorite ways to shop. If you're like me and you love causally browsing at thrift stores, swap meets, yard sales, then you'll love Mercari. instead of hoping to find a yard sale last hope you're interested in you can set up notifications based on your searches. because I am plus size and crazy over polka dots one of my notifications let's me know if any listings are added by users that contain the words "2x dot" It feels like a mix of eBay and Craigslist and a yard sale? Just like any other online shopping site, choosing the right words to search for are key. While I'm looking for polka dot shirts, I'm not sure what a seller could have listed the item titled as so I do a few similar searches.... I try to be vague to hopefully yield a better response. Example I don't search for "polka dot" I just search "dot" because it's more likely to get a response. Sounds silly to mention that but it's worth noting as silly stuff like that has helped me find some good stuff on the site. I've purchased wedding decor, picture frames, new clothes with tags still attached, used clothes, electronics, dog clothes, artwork, video game accessories and more. The prices on the site are set by the seller but are mostly reasonable. You can message the seller any questions or to inquire about more photos or more details on the items condition. It's important to take note of any flaws before purchasing, just like on eBay. TIP FOR BEST RESULTS: if you are buying a breakable item, ask the seller about how they intend to protect the item. I have had a couple items arrive broken due to lazy shipping. But customer service has fixed any issues I had so that hasn't stopped me from continuing to shop on the site. I haven't sold anything on the site yet, but I need to!
